Right now all of the polls essentially describe snapshots of a statistical tie. I’ll settle for that for now, since John McCain still has not really begun to fight yet. Also, he and his party are way behind in fundraising, compared with Obama and the Jackasses. Now why corporate America and Wall Street are giving more money to Obama is beyond my understanding, given what his and his party’s tax proposals are. Or those millionaires and billionaires who are in league with Soros to put a Jackass in the White House.
It is still mainly the under-40 crowd, urban, and university town people who are Obama supporters. I don’t think McCain is going to win much there. The narrative templates these people filter reality through do not favor anything that is not “progressive” (the new name for various socialists).
I prefer not to approach this election from any other position but as an underdog. Because we Republicans right now ARE underdogs in this fight. This thing is far from over. I know my take on it is probably colored by the fact that I live in a Blue State, because others I discuss this with who are from Red States are much more confident of the outcome. But as much as I am more in accord with the folks in “Flyover Country” I know where the population tends to be concentrated. We have an uphill fight ahead of us.
