What you say may be accurate, but hardly resembles the truth (to distort a movie line). If one accepts, as many from the political right do, that conservatism, by it”s very name, is not malleable; does not require perfectability; is a proven winning hand that we are sticking with (for you poker players).
And that the left, across the table, is forever ‘progressing’ to a passel of ephemeral and ever changing ideals.
We have, instead of your back and forth clash of ideas (which implies a balance), a slow but steady 100 years of compromise away from a stable American state.
What we are discussing here is when it will all tip over. Try and keep up.
