There has never been any question about the true nature of Islam for me or mine, coming as we do from a Middle Eastern (Christian) family background. Therefore I view the introduction of the idea of “tolerance” in these discussions, however well-meaning, to be misguided to the point of insanity. Sort of like deliberating about how much cyanide we can all eat and still be OK. I have slowly come to the heartbreaking conclusion that it is the deep innocence of most Americans, so beautiful in the abstract, that is at the heart of what makes us highly vulnerable to this lethal adversary. Thus there may not be a cure for this Achilles heel until it is far too late.
So to those good folks commenting on this article for whom the jury is apparently still out on Islam and therefore the actions of Mr. Christie, I would urge you to take a few minutes to listen to these two clips of remarks by LT Col Allen West. One deals directly with the “religion of peace” myth, the other with illegal immigration, for of course they are INTIMATELY related.
