What a ridiculous article. Kim Zigfeld has been predicting disaster for Russia continuously for the last three years and Russia has gotten stronger in every category: militarily, economically, politically, and even demographically. The death rates have fallen, the birth rates have risen and the average life span is rising as well.
I’m going to do something Kim Zigfeld never does and make clear falsifiable predictions about Russia. Russia’s population will stabilize in the near future, with immigration, increasing birth rates and decreasing emigration and death rates converging. The Russian economy will weather the current troubles and still maintain a healthy growth rate. No part of Siberia will become part of China in the lifetime of anyone alive today. Immigrants will still arrive in Russia in numbers measuring hundreds of thousands a year. The number of racist crimes in Russia will grow for the near future before falling after 2010.
