Also it is not surprising that unmarried women are in Obama’s corner. It has long been the case that unmarried women skew left while married women, especially ones with children, skew right.
There are some theories as to why this is. One is that single women and divorced women are so risk-averse that they look to big government as their “knight in shining armor.” It would be difficult to vote for the conservative if you thought the purpose of government is to do everything for you.
