Marx was not a Westerner. If defined scientifically, Westerners are a mixture of original Celtic peoples and the Germanic tribes who subordinated them. Semitic peoples (Jews, Arabs, Beduins)are different, as history shows. If defined geographically, I believe Israel is in SW Asia, not Europe. If defined culturally, Westerners are members of the former ‘Christendom’, which combined Greek/Roman learning with the Christian religion.
