Obama is headed for a train wreck, but his candidacy will implode well before the election. Rasmussen reports this morning that 19% of white Democrats will vote for McCain. It seems the “bitter clinger” comments have stuck in the craw of more than a few people. This should come as no surprise; we saw similar results in the PA, WV, and KY primaries.
In addition, the congress as led by Pelosi and Reid has proved itself utterly incompetent to address pressing problems such as the current energy crisis. Their fairyland policies only mirror the mindset of the Democratic base. Obama has the MSM firmly in the bag, but that only proves how far out of touch the media are with middle America.
Add to the above Obama’s increasing narcissism and you see a campaign hurtling toward perdition without an adult behind the wheel to apply the brakes. Susan Estrich sees it clearly enough, but nobody is listening. And when the likes of a LudiChris (whatever he calls himself) opens his yap, it only serves to scare middle class voters. He might be under the bus, but his words still resonate.
Fear not, fellow conservatives, the republic will survive.
