“You know… I like what Obama is doing. I am a supporter that thinks he should continue to stick it to the mainstream media. He does not owe them.”

Whatever he’s “sticking” to them, they’re lovin’ it. And he owes them plenty.

“The Surge is not working if The idea of people dying means its working…”

The idea that fewer people are dying means it’s working. A LOT fewer. Let’s take your statement to its logical conclusion; can you say with any certainty that if we left fewer or no people would be dying?

“When the alternative was not going to war in the first place.”

What part of MoveOn are you having trouble with? The alternatives are in the past, regardless whether you or anyone else would have made a different choice at that time. The question is – what do we do now? Say, “Whoops, my bad!” and run off? I had a ham sandwich the other day that made me sick. The alternative was roast beef. My doctor didn’t say, “Of course, you should have had the roast beef,” without consideration of what condition the roast beef was in. He treated me.

“Or is your goal to dislike this man no mater what?”

The goal was to ascertain why he may be a better choice. I’ve decided “no” for a variety of reasons.

“Sure some of the more visible talking heads are on his side.”

…and about 90% of the rest of the media. Open your eyes.

“But same is true for McCain… My gosh McCain has Bush supporting him as well as
49% of the Senate, a so called news network (Fox News) and many people like you
on the internet.”

And Obama has the lion’s share of the media (print, most cable news, Europe, etc.), 49% of the Senate and folks like you on the internet. What’s the problem here?

“Also McCain is white… This gives him a huge advantage…”

Why?

“Or if the Mainstream media is in the tank why it matters?”

Because the MainStream Media control the information that most people get.

“The media in this county is lame…” etc., etc.

I couldn’t agree with you more. But the BBC? Ah yes, a government controlled news outlet is always better, right? Is this your way of suggesting our own media should be government controlled? No thanks.
