Am I the only one who thinks that the NFL draft is the closest thing we have to a slave auction?
Seriously. That’s the entertainment value of this event.
It’s a controlled market, not an open negotiation between prospective employers and employees. Young men are being raffled off for less than fair market value, because the NFL controls the market and dictates the contract. The meat being sold has to submit to this, and a period of indentured servitude, before the can become a “free” agent.
