You are a lucky guy or gal. Ethanol and water co-distill at 95 percent ethanol, 5 percent water. It can’t be further concentrated because ethanol will absorb water from the air to reach that nice, stable 95 percent.
So how do they make 200 proof? They add nasty things like benzene, toluene, or xylenes at about a half percent.
Please stay away from 200 proof and tell your friends. It can also pull water from the esophagus if drunk straight. It’s not meant for human consumption.
