What about a country giving one of its citizens to be tried in some international court, or perhaps kangoroo court? How future generations of Serbs will see this? To play with national feelings of a people that was known as the “guardians of the gate” because they closed the access of Ottomans to Central Europe, that could be to play with the fire. But today the world is governed by smart people, so smart that they can ignore the lessons from the past.

And what about the informal list of American war criminals that from time to time circulates in Europe. People like Kissinger — remember Chile? — and certainly Bush? To be or not to be in that list is only a matter of good press. Someday as Kissinger arrives in Paris he can be arrested under the order of some little judge fishing for his 15 minutes of fame. For sure president Obama will not send the Marines nor the CIA, he will try to negotiate a pleasant solution.
So, before celebrating the jailing of a notorious criminal think a little and prepare for future problems.
