My condolences on the loss of your important landmark, symbol, and useful bridge across the Tigris. The terrorists scored a victory today, and we must admit it when they enjoy a success.

I’m going to guess that the only reason the bridge was not blown later in the day was tactical. That is, the enemy was afraid of discovery if they waited for high traffic time. In this regard, Baghdadis were lucky, as many more could have been killed.
