I totally concur with your posting, however, the only area where were I would make a historical correction is that the government of Fulgencio Batistas, was at best a rather benign dictatorship.
Neither economic nor social rights were abused, ,however, if you were a communist sympathizer or terrorist of the 26 of July, Segundo Frente or attacking the Palace like the Directorio did, there would be a fierce response.
