“As scandalous as Truman’s firing of Douglas MacArthur was at the close of the Korean War, few historians would now argue that the armistice that MacArthur stubbornly and unconstitutionally refused to allow …” This statement is not in accord with the chronology. Truman relieved MacArthur on April 11, 1951, the armistice negotiations began on July 10, 1951, and the armistice was signed on July 27, 1953.
