The danger of these MANPADS systems being used on commercial airliners isn’t the real danger. One attack like that and Iran and Venezuela both get the Afghanistan March 2001 treatment, and they know it. The danger is that these systems will be sold to the cartels, and they will start using them on the UAVs that we are planning to rely on at the border, to smuggle in even more contraband.
