Rambam, I heartily agree that weddings can kinda, well, as you put it, “suck”, and are a nightmare logistically for world leaders, but I’ve read where Sarkozy of France (a sitting President) is invited, and I believe other world leaders have been as well. True, it is not a State Event, but there are 2,000 seats available and, if Obama, a young and vital (if not “hip”) President, was “in good standing” with the Brits, I surely think they would have invited him.
I do believe this was a well-deserved snub, albeit of minor consequence; just enough to send the “warning” they want him to receive.
