I believe this is the main thrust of the UNICEF initiative
A Rights Respecting School teaches children and young people that they have rights under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The agenda is to teach a child that he or she has “rights”. Specifically, that he or she has “rights” that may well circumvent those laid down by a parent or other authority figure.
The effects of such kinds of insidious teaching are already seen in American public schools where more and more students feel free to challenge an adult trying to get them to conform to school rules.
The message of the Convention on the Rights of the Child is that the imposition of standards will be, from now on, in the hands of “state parties”.
2. States Parties shall take all appropriate measures to ensure that the child is protected against all forms of discrimination or punishment on the basis of the status, activities, expressed opinions, or beliefs of the child’s parents, legal guardians, or family members.
This agenda parallels the agenda of the World Court which is the removal of local jurisdiction for legal decisions.
Convention on the Rights of the Child
I’m wondering how that “Convention” might be working on the practitioners of female circumcision (FGM) on young girls in Somalia. Has “The Convention” slowed them down ?
Oh wait, it’s “The UN”. The object is some kind of vague worldwide control, not actual protection of individual children. Never mind.
