Hey, Persian apologists! Get over yourselves. The Spartans and the battle portrayed in the 300 are remembered 2400 years later as the epitome of courage, duty and sacrifice. You can whine all you want about Xeres “enlightenment” and his fair treatment of his subjugated lands, but doing so is a ridiculous display. Face it, the free citizens that populated the Spartan ranks made mincemeat of Xeres’ enslaved troops until sheer numbers alone overwhelmed the Spartans, Thebians and others who stood at the pass in opposition.
