I know I am going to get attacked for this one but here it goes.
As an Iranian who has great respect for the persian civilization and culture I strongly believe that we are channelling our energy in the wrong direction by attacking this movie. We are living at a time when the real threat to our culture and civilization is not holywood but its the Islamic Regime. For the past 27 years they have done everything to try to destroy our history from changing our flag, to forcing us to learn arabic and trying their hardest to ban our cultural holidays such as Norouz and Charshambe Souri. Yet here we are attacking a movie that has not claimed in any way to be a documentary or an accurate depiction of history.
I have great respect for Mr. Ardeshi and I am in no way trying to attack him or minimize his work or article. But I believe that this is the time to focus ALL of our energy on our real enemy.
When we have reached our goal of a free and democratic Iran then we can afford to focus on things like this but right now is the wrong time.
As Mr. Arian has mentioned there are 2 active petitions regarding this issue which are in the top 25 most popular online petitions. I find this disturbing when there are so many people inside Iran who need our help and the signitures on these petitions, yet we are not able to deliver.
I don’t want to make this post any longer then necessary but to conclude yes the depiction of the Persians in this movie is not accurate, but the movie is based on a comic book and is not a historic documentary. Lets not forget who the real enemy of persian civilization and culture is and fight the greater evil first before starting these small battles.
