Jonk, you’re wrong, and here’s why: Exodus 20:11, “For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”
They are not compatible unless God has made a false statement. Since, that is not possible it means that of Evolutionary origins and Biblical origins one of them is wrong. Those who believe in the Bible are supposed to trust in God, but instead many have taken the fallible, ever-changing beliefs of men and forced them into Scriptures. It is telling to see, also, how any compromise between Scripture and Science necessarily means that it is Scripture that must conform, indicating the priority in such men’s thinking: Naturalism.
For me, it was thinking about Noah’s Flood that confirmed that Genesis is true. Look at the world. There is evidence everywhere of a global flood, which speaks of the truth of ALL of Genesis, since Noah’s flood is generally rejected based on the same criteria as Creation Week. And it is such strong circumstantial evidence that it deserves attention. Practically all fossils are themselves evidence for catastrophic water burial. How did the Bible “predict” this? How did the Bible “predict” that all men are of ONE BLOOD? This is powerful circumstantial evidence.
Don’t think I am hard-up for Creation. I am hard-up to the fact that Jesus is the truth and the way, and that Jesus believed in a literal Genesis. And that undermining Genesis is a most sure way to make the words of Jesus of no effect, because Genesis speaks of the credibility of the Creator’s authority.
Remember, the serpent tempted Eve saying, “Did God really say…”.
