This statement, “A high-profile conversion begs the question: what are these women seeking that they could not find under liberty?” is actually committing a begging-the-question epithet as well. It’s hidden assumption is that liberty was lacking in some way to cause the conversion. Was liberty indeed lacking? Didn’t the convert in question say she merely received a tingly sensation?
