Hate to say it: it probably has to do with men. Usually the woman converts because of love and security. They give up finding a decent guy under the current Western feminist/intellectual regime.
And men have deserted Christianity (unlike Islam) in droves. The Islamic men (even though they treat women like crap) are “cleaner” morally: they drink less if at all, they have less debt, adultery is harder (although not impossible!), respect chastity, etc.
And these women–who crave morality and family structure–confuse these two items with religious belief.
