The agency SHOULD be known as “The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, Explosives and Oleomargarine!” BATF is charge with “responsibility” to collect the still-existing taxes on oleomargarine, instituted in the early 20th Century to “protect” dairies from being undercut on their price of butter! By the way, THESE are the same people known as “Revenooers” in the southern hills where moonshining is still being practiced.
