In spite of digging a three trillion dollar hole, they openly and obviously shafted one of the most faithful groups they ever bought off, the elderly. Not only did they declare there was no inflation for the second year running in spite of the fact that it cost seniors about 5% a year more to run in place, they shafted them out of the healthcare that is a primary focus of their lives at this point.
The democrats may well have gotten to where they are in large part by buying off various groups with promises, but they now don’t have the ability to deliver on those promises and they’ve tipped their hand as to who they intend to throw under the bus. Brainwashing the youth has been their other steller success, and with unemployment among the under thirty set running at least twice the official rate many of those with blinders on are shedding them. One big whack at the funding for their favorite programs, a whack that sheds thousands of highly paid Federal jobs, and the democrat party will collapse into fights between the groups that are afraid of being next under the bus or next no longer employed in Federal jobs.
