What is wrong with all of you people – starting with Laura? Who are you? How dare you write such a disrespectful piece of trash about someone you have clearly never met? I have had the privilege of meeting both your boss, Steve Emerson and Dr. Akbar Ahmed and you bring great discredit to both of these amazing men. Shame on you! These men are great patriots, each in his own way, and for you to blatently obscure facts and make false statements through innuendo is unforgiveable! I met Dr. Ahmed when his book, Journey into Islam first came out. He was speaking at The National Cathedral with two of his closest friends, Bishop John Chane and Rabbi Bruce Lustig. What does that say about his life-long commitment to reaching out to others by building bridges of knowledge and understanding instead of ignorance and hate? And speaking of ignorance and hate, what about all of you who wrote in with your nasty, lazy comments about which you know nothing. I am here to state – with every fiber of my being – that you have done an incredible disservice to both Mr. Emerson and Dr. Ahmed by buying into the rampant hatred for anyone whom you percieve to be different. Yes, there are terrible people out there who wish us dead – people from all walks of life and every religion under the sun. Meeting Dr. Akbar Ahmed was one of the great moments of my life. He is filled with peace and has spent his entire life trying to share that with others. Look him up, learn about him before you dare to say the things you have said here today. You should all stand in shame.
