Iran doesn’t want a CONVENTIONAL war with an enemy that would make quick work of the Iranian armed forces in any engagement that pitted the uniformed, “legitimate” military forces of both sides against each other in the field of battle.
What they want is to extend the Islamism. If they could do that without war, I’m sure they’d be perfectly happy. If they could do it using gentle persuasion delivered in soothing, carefully modulated tones, I’m sure that would be Allah-rific.
So, Pat Buchanan is right. They don’t want war.
