Agreed w/Cybergeezer – there is no reason we can’t trust the military’s network security to handle simple electronic voting, even if it’s just marking PDFs and emailing them back (with a copy retained for the MM).
We’re military, but my husband is not deployed; even so, he votes absentee in Indiana and has for years. It’s a pain in the *** even for non-deployed members – I can imagine what it must be like at a FOB or in a submarine. If they can go out there and risk death for us, though, there is no reason we can’t take care of this one little thing for them. A federal government that actually made this a priority could make it happen within weeks. And I don’t know about you, but this is one thing I wouldn’t mind spending a little more taxpayer money on.
