The “Fairness” Doctrine is an assault on free speech, because it’s a phony standard. There are no conservative viewpoints allowed in any of the mainstream media – not print, not radio shows (NPR), and not television shows (except FOX).

There are no barriers to entry into radio for liberal/Left shows. If they put up the money, they can find an outlet. But because there is very little market for their tripe, they are economically a millstone around the station’s and network’s necks.

They can’t compete with Limbaugh, Hannity, and Savage because they s**k at what they try to do. Al Franken and Air America failed because not many people were interested in the show. That means not enough advertising dollars. The show failed and that’s that.

I’m a former Leftist (from many years ago)and I can tell you that these people will do anything they can to ostracize you, shout you down, and shut you down. Under the veneer of their humanitarian concerns they are totalitarians who simply do not tolerate dissent. If they can’t compete with it, they will spare no effort to stuff it down. That’s who they are.

And because they don’t like criticism of their policy prescriptions, they will not tolerate any criticism of Obama. They will brand it as “racist” or some other epithet, in order to smear it and blunt its effects. Sometimes they will succeed and sometimes they will fail, but what matters most to them is that sometimes they do not succeed in stifling dissent and criticism.

There are a lot of sound reasons why I left the Left. Do not trust these people. They have no scruples and are completely given over to expediency.
