I distinctly remember a leftist who used to post frequently on political newsgroups to the effect that the REPUBLICANS had “stolen” the 2000 and 2004 elections through voting irregularities. He claimed that the Republican Party had a secret agreement with Diebold, who makes some significant proportion of the voting machines, to make those machines misreport their results in favour of the Republicans. He thought this plan was so ingenious that it guaranteed Republican victories for every future election. I never saw him posting after the 2008 election though, which was disappointing. I was hoping to ask him to explain how the Republicans had lost despite this supposedly foolproof plan of the Republicans…..
