If lifetime jobs and eternal pensions have been a problem for private industry, they most assuredly have been a problem of public industry, and may, in fact, form the incentive for election, the worst reason in the world – for self service unjust enrichment. This is the cart pulling the horse, and cannot meet the requirements of public service that representative government was designed to produce. It is an enslavement form of government.
