Indeed. It’s the process of abrogation where the later suras (in chronological order) nullify what Allah/Mohammed said in the earlier ones. I am reminded of one of Napoleon’s fantasies where he saw himself riding on an elephant into India with a new Koran which he would have written to suit his purposes.
