Drilling locally / alternate production methods (shale oil) may not solve things permanently, but it will buy us time to get off foreign oil reserves and to develop alternate forms of energy / transportation. And at $142 a barrel, we can make money that stays in this country, rather than sending it to countries that tolerate our money while hating us behind our backs.
