What a few people have been saying about the other media outlets ignoring it, I want to add something.

Seerak, who commented some time ago, made a comment that intrigued me. I just wanted to mention that like this story is ignored by those who don’t want to face it, many contemporary anthologies of philosophy do not include even a single reference to Ayn Rand or Objectivism. Some do, but many that do mention her in passing but don’t include much, even when they include whole chapters on collectivist writings like John Rawl’s “New Theory of Justice” (or whatever it was called), an contemporary whose book she did a review of.

To be fair, they also do not mention various libertarian writers, no matter how great the quality or popularity of their work (omitting the fact that many libertarians plagiarized Rand). The only advocates of individualism that they include are Aristotle (and he was unfortunately inconsistent in this), and Nietzsche, who accepted and promoted individualism as defined by altruist/collectivists.

Is there a connection, maybe?

Otherwise, Great job Coates and Adams. That took more courage than I will ever know, and so I will leave you with a quote:
“I’m not brave enough to be a coward; I see the consequences too clearly.” -Ayn Rand
