As with most Democratic presidential candidates, what matters is not what he is, but what people want him to be. The press may think the bloom is off the rose and some may criticise, but that will not affect many Obama supporters. Conservatives overestimate the MSM power to move votes. Half its power derives from the picture and soundbyte/headline nature of their medium. This is more easily exploited by liberal political slants, but that aspect is not automatically good for progressives and bad for conservatives.(Ask any progressive trying to make a complicated point in the MSM). Obama can use them even when they’re against him.
