This happens with many Supreme court cases because a new decision means change. Trying people on secret evidence is unAmerican in my opinion.

“Second, the majority opinion throws into question whether the tens of thousands of detainees in Iraq and the more than 1000 in Afghanistan are now entitled to habeas.”

Not really. De facto control does not magically undo the sovereignty of those nations.

“Third, the Court’s decision encourages al Qaeda to continue in violation of the Geneva Conventions. ”

Gosh, and Al Qaeda was so close to following Geneva conventions too. Darn!

I don’t see how these objections amount to anything. The last one is complete nonsense.
