The Democrats swept the 2006 elections on a pledge to end the war in Iraq. They had every opportunity to do so by using the power of the purse to cut off funding. They never made the effort and today the congressional approval rating sits at 15%! The Democrats have proved themselves inept at every turn. The bottom line is that the scramble for personal power is more important than ideology. That goes double for the Democratic presidential candidate. The Republicans threw away their majority when they revealed themselves as corrupt. It appears the Democrats want to return the favor. So much for the “new” politics. Both the electorate and the media have become cynical. I think for good reason.
