No, Professor Ahmed, the Founders Were Not So Fond of Islam
“[John Adams, America’s second president] showed the utmost respect for Islam, naming the Prophet Mohammed as one of the greatest truth seekers in history.”Ahmed A Mistake (or whatever this nitwit’s name is)
I doubt it.
This is what Adams actually said…
“All sober inquirers after truth, ancient and modern, pagan and Christian, have declared that the happiness of man, as well as his dignity, consists in virtue. Confucius, Zoroaster, Socrates, Mahomet, not to mention authorities really sacred, have agreed in this.”–John Adams
It can be found in John Adams’ essay “Thoughts on Government: Applicable to the Present State of the American Colonies”, and Adams doesn’t express either respect for Islam or any opinion as to Mohammed’s greatness, other than to note that Mohammed’s babble wasn’t “really sacred”.
Methinks the Muslim doth be lying through his teeth…and he’s getting paid to do so by your federal government, which frequently employs this guy.
Tea Party anyone?
