I agree with much of what you write. I think the government should have stayed out of this discussion. But as soon as Bloomburg… and then O’Bama, opened their big traps we now have the government to deal with, in addition to the Muslims themselves. With them taking such a strong stand in favor of the GZM, and of Islam, our only recourse is to vote the bastards out this November and again in 2012.
You write “..no one who comes here will have to support a faith different from their own or be ruled by it..” Adherents to Islam are advocates of just the opposite. So, you see, we are going to have to deal with Islam, in a way very unlike the way we deal with all other religions in this country, be they Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish, Atheist or agnostic.
Fortunately, we do have experience in this. During the late 1800′s we were jailing Mormons by the hundreds and threatening to confiscate their property, mostly over the polygamy issue. At that time, the Mormon leaders were just as belligerent as Islam’s leaders of today. Today the Mormons are a modicum of a peaceful, Christian, pro American religion.
