You’d do well to at least browse through the other comments before perpetuating the liablous smear thrown at the Mikoyans in this commentary’s title. At no time have they been ILLEGAL !! They have worked LEGALLY through the system all these years, have been model LEGAL resident aliens, and are simply asking for one last consideration that many feel they deserve. If anything, this family is a role model for LEGAL immigration. Arthur’s father is a prime candidate for at least a green card, and Arthur should apply for (and receive) a student visa. His younger brother is already a citizen, and his mother could be (at worst) an au pair.
The only thing that would make them better “legal immigration” poster children would be if they were actually Mexican! Surely there are successful, legal, Mexican immigrants out there that Navarrette could have chosen to libel and crucify, but somehow I don’t think that would mesh with his racist agenda.
