Both of you overlook what I think will be the deciding factor on Obama’s potentual re-election. Corruption and dirty politics.
Obama’s backers will do all they can to destroy any threat to his re-election. They destroyed all the Republican candidates but McCain, who was an easy opponent for the Democrats (any Democrat) to beat and who had either an incompetent or corrupt support staff. (His appointing Palin really threw them into a panic. The only thing worse, from their point of view, would have been to tap Hillary.)
