Very nice. As you suggested the media may not have the power it once held, and that is a good thing. My preference for Palin comes from a couple of places. First, she is hated by the Left in a way comparable to Mr. Reagan. And I ask myself why, and the answer I keep coming up with is that they are/were able to get very close to the truth in regard to the individual’s rights and the proper role of government in guaranteeing these rights.
Second, with her baby Trig, she can show a bond between mother and child that many would not have thought possible and might have deemed ‘unviable’. In this regard, she needn’t even address the abortion issue, because she won’t have to, and it would be unwise for her to do so. If she gets one vote from every woman who’s ever had an abortion and lived to regret it, well, that’s one vote her opponent doesn’t get.
Women got the vote a little after Prohibition.(18th, 19th ammendments) But they were clamoring for it for some time and the proximity of these two events is suggestive and perhaps, informative. It says to me that women can take aim and hit a target, but what they aim at is of vastly greater importance. During any WagonTrain seige, a circle would form and Winchesters would be a-blazin’ and when empty, the little wife would hand them another while she repeated the reloading process.
Suppose hubby took one (arrow) in the frontal lobe? That meant Annie had to take over the job of shooting. And maybe her daughter took over reloading.
With practice she could become pretty good; for the Indian it became a chance to mock his opponent. In the end, the West was won and casinos dotted the land. Good shooting, ladies.
The male conservative has for too long accomodated the Left’s desire to reconfigure America, such that an arrowhead in the forehead is a fair analogy- given the crop of candidates who haven’t grasped the unpopularity of the pass known as Donner. Obama as wagonmaster has always been headed for the Donner Pass, as have other democrats before him, but he wants to get there before the heavy snows hit, that’s why he “hit the ground, running”. Every one shovel-ready? The women on this ‘train’ may hold the key to averting disaster if they get a chance to vote(shoot).
This November may be a sign that women are tired of having an unemployed husband sitting around the house all day, or trying to feed a family and pay bills with limited means. They may think about the Winchester. November 2012 will be the day they take hold of .30 caliber and shoot (vote) the bastards out. By then, Obama will be down to his last feather and Sarah will be the trumpet sound of the cavalry just over the hill.
Women are usually busy with other stuff, but once they pick up a rifle, pick a target and take aim, look out. Not saying Democrats are insensitive to women’s needs, but when their fall-back position in every debate seems to be, “We’ll help you kill your fetus, they won’t”, I have to wonder what kind of love is that? As a guy I have to ask, is this a party I want to be invited to? Is this all they’ve got? Are there no compromises? Where is the compassion?
