Iran’s Anti-Israel Protest Reveals Regime Fearful of Domestic Opposition
Maliheh, I’m not a liberal. I’m a libertarian. That’s A. B, I also write for the Huffington Post and I write for Enduring America as well. HP is ultra-liberal and EA is brazenly anti-US interventionism. Have you, however, seen me write about anything but human rights? The issue here is not writing for websites because you agree with everything they say. The issue here is getting everyone involved in a debate in which they rightfully belong.
Conservative Americans and liberal Americans are the two sides of the same coin which make up the fabric of this country. You cannot despise a group simply because they have a political belief that you disagree with. If you stopped being friends with people because you had issues with their beliefs, I’m sure you’d be left with you alone.
As for me, I have socialist friends, I have capitalist friends, hell, I might even have some communist friends who aren’t telling me what they belief in. I have evangelical, atheist, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist all kinds of friends. I work with people who are anti-abortion, I work with people who’re pro gay-marriage and I work with people who are strongly against immigration.
What’s dividing us is not our ability to alienate, but our inability to compromise. As for you being a follower… I have never considered anyone on Twitter or Facebook that I am friends with or who ‘follow’ me as followers or fans. I look at them as friends. So understand your value and try to see the bigger picture.
If we want US foreign policy geared towards helping the Green Movement in Iran or human rights anywhere, we need help from everyone – liberals, conservatives, Christians, Muslims, Jews, gays, straights.. This is the way it’s going to work. I’m not going to pinpoint media organizations that adhere to my set of beliefs. If you don’t like this, then you’re welcome to disagree, but if you disagree with who I am simply because I write for an organization that adheres to political beliefs you oppose, then I’m very dismayed.
