I’m glad you concur on my main point. However we part company regarding motive. Our political and intellectual elites don’t hate Western Civilization. On the contrary, they imagine they are its guardians, defending it from ignorant reactionaries like you and like me.
The elites are headquartered in the universities and in critical government bureaucracies like the State Department. Are you suggesting that Harvard, where dead languages and civilizations are studied, where ancient Greece and Rome live and breathe and where the finest mathematicians and scientists in the land pursue bleeding edge research is a nest of anti-Western vipers? Can’t be.
Do you really imagine that the State Department would hatch and implement policies inimical to the national interest? Indeed that it has done so consistently on every continent on this planet for at least fifty years? Impossible to believe.
