Would the unwashed masses please go back and read the UN Resolution 1441, they might see that it did indeed authorize the continuation of the initial conflict. They might read how when the conditions for the cease-fire that halted (temporarily) the 1991 campaign were not met, the UN resolutions (most notably 687) which authorized the 1991 campaign were back in play.
