“Pajamas Media” was so named when the main stream press was doing a smear job on the bloggers who had proved that Dan Rather’s documents on George Bush were false, something the lazy main stream press had not seriously looked into. It was an attempt to marginalize and destroy the credibility of bloggers.
The word “swiftboating” has become a term of opprobrium, but I read their book, looked at their evidence and proof and huff and puff as he might, it took John Kerry four years to decide to rebut them. Then, when another book by the Swiftboaters was announced, Kerry finally shut up and sat down.
I was archivist in our county during the Reform Party Campaign of 1992. Ross Perot was one of the nation’s most highly respected businessmen for having formed 2 great corporations. The first, Electronic Data Systems, he sold to GM, a decision he later regretted. Yes, Perot had a funny accent, but he had been a champion debater in high school and had attended Annapolis. Our Party Platform was much like the Contract With Americxa. His reason for dropping out if true rendered him unfit to be President. (He was putting his daughter’s Summer wedding ahead of the welfare of the nation). But that’s not enough for people to call him a nutcase — something they never back up. Name me a right-wing hero who hasn’t been smeared and had his background distorted. Buckley, Rand, G. Gordon Liddy, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, even Victor Davis Hanson. President Reagan was called a “dunce” until, after his death, they found boxes and boxes of essays on foreign and economic policy he’d written virtually every day after he decided to enter politics. As Tom Clancy once said, “the streets of DC are littered with the bodies of Democrats who underestimated Reagan.” . McCain was the darling of the media — until he got the nomination. Now, they’ve turned on him because they love Obama more. The press loved the Clintons and did everything they could to discredit books like UNLIMITED ACCESS by FBI Agent, Gary Aldrich. Then, when they swooned for Obama, they began saying the same things about the Clintons, Republicans always had.
Through forced famines and show trials, Walter Duranty lied about Stalin for the New York Times. Hence, when other reporters wrote the truth their editors didn’t believe them because of true it would have been in the NYT.
Herb Matthews swooned over Cuba’s “Lincoln”. who was up in the mountains with a few men. Suddenly, volunteers and money and arms started flooding into Cuba and a dictatorship was born.
I don’t need to see Michelle with Louis Farrakan. Her “gaffe” (otherwise known as an “oops” moment that she was proud of America for the first time in her life gave me enough info to not want her near the White House. Obama is non-threatening, but he’s friends with a white terrorist, Bill Ayers, a raving Black Power preacher, leading an Afrocentric church, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, who he listened to for 20 years. Wright hated whites and said so. He said nasty things about America, but “disrespecting” Obama, THAT was the last straw.
Keep digging, folks. Just remember that the standards are different for us. We must be impeccable in our facts and in our logic.
I don’t care if Obama is Arab-American. I care that he lies about it. I don’t care if he was a Muslim as a child. I care that he lies about it. And everytime I catch him in a lie I wonder what else he’s lying about.
