Ben,
Yeah, the money I DID have invested (….in a 401K) is mostly GONE. Had we allowed republicans to have their way and placed all my Social Security money into Wall Street, I would be poverty stricken. Am I lucky I have a Social Security check and a VA pension to live off of? You’re dam’d right!

“If you are already receiving Social Security, or have been for some time, you either (1) got a free ride on the labor of others which is wholly immoral (why not lobby Congress to pass a law decriminalizing thievery committed by anyone named David W. Walters?)….”
-”Free Ride” “immoral?…….
No, the crime is not taking care of those workers who gave their health to their job, for their employers profit, and those veterans who risk life and limb in defense of your right to make a fair profit.

Look buddy, I was declared disabled when I was 50 from a lifetime of toil that has left me crippled. Do I, or should I feel any guilt whatsoever from taking an early retirement? HELL NO! Perhaps you don’t understand hard physical labor that breaks your body down. But I am proud of my days as a paratrooper, serving my country and as a construction supervisor, building highways. Actually, it was the companies I worked for that got a free ride off of my labors all these years…
You ought to be glad there were men such as I, doing what I did all these years.

“As for increased VA benefits, if you’re a veteran, great. Thank you very much for your service. But you got paid for your service. Increasing your compensation for work already completed used to be unconstitutional here in California”

As for “Thank you very much for your service”, it was my service that allows this country to remain free for business to operate freely worldwide. So all I deserve is a pat on the back and a lame Thanx? -Yeah, right. The problem with this country is that the labor of the individuals is not compensated fairly. We (working men and women) are the backbone and framework that business is built upon. And you’d have us kicked to the curb when we are no longer useful to you? No, pay your taxes and quit your whining.
