Mr Perren has an interesting viewpoint, but simply explaining these people as progressives really lets them off the hook for their odious philosophy.
The new notion of Ruling Elite explains them better. They simply want to rule us. They hold us in contempt and implement policies that are the best at controlling the unwashed. Ultimately, they want 2 classes: them and serfs (us).
And in the case of Obama, he is a hard-core Marxist. How else do you explain that every acquaintance and associate he has had in his life has been a Communist, Marxist, or radical of some sort. I find it unlikely that he has a conversion after swimming with the sharks for 47 years. “Progressive” doesn’t even get close to what he is.
