Charles, I mean this with respect… but you ask Jasser what right he has to pick and choose from the Koran.
For one, people of all faiths do that with their holy books- thank God. Otherwise Christians would still be selling their wives into slavery, and there might very well be Jews attacking non-Jews, etc.
Second, what right do you have to tell a Muslim what is and what isn’t the true form of his religion? I don’t see why you would cite Muslim scholars that have said moderate Muslims aren’t true Muslims; those are the same radical Muslims we consider to be pure scum and totally screwed in the head.
Religion is all about interpretation; that is why we have different sects of Judaism and Christianity. It makes little to no sense to tell a Muslim that he has to interpret his religion with an all-or-nothing attitude.
