I will show how old I am.

Does anybody here remember the Buddhist Monks of South Vietnam, during the war ?
Do you remember ?
We were told that they were the “third way”, that they had great faith and power over their people, we were told that their movement against the war was not going to help the communists.
They burned themselves alive, asking for the end of the war.
We were impressed, indeed.

Their great example and determination was a powerful force to end the war.

We stopped fighting, we went away. The commie tanks came in.
End of the story.
The beautiful souls disappeared.
No Western journalist even cared looking for them.

They had been used by the commies and when the time of the commies came, they were thrown away, like garbage.

I remain pretty skeptic about the role of beautiful souls in the middle of brutal wars.
I do not question their honesty, I question their role on the chess table.
I question how much the monsters behind the curtains can use the beautiful souls.

Of course that would be different if we had some hundreds of millions of muslim “moderates” fighting daily against the horrors of shari’a…

ONE ?????????
A few tens ???????
