these people were trying to legally come to this country, claiming political asylum…this does NOT mean they are illegal aliens…they were aliens trying to LEGALLY come to this country. The political asylum was denied and they were granted an extention to deportation so their oldest could graduate…after their graduation, they were going to go back to their home country without complaint. Also note, they were going to take their other child, who was a US citizen back with them, rather than whine they had to abandon their child here.
There is a big difference here. Obviously, the Illegal Alien support groups want to make political hay out of this…but there isn’t anything here for them to work with.
